How it works

From storm to street in three steps

  1. 1

    A storm rolls through

StormTurf pulls radar hail, National Weather Service storm reports, weather-station wind gusts and National Hurricane Center wind zones, twice a day.

  2. 2

    Every neighborhood gets a score

Storm data is matched to every home on the Florida property roll, and each area gets a 0-100 lead score your whole team can read at a glance.

  3. 3

Send teams and track every door

Managers pick the turf, reps work it from their phones, and every knock, callback and booked inspection lands on the same shared map.

The lead score

A score your reps understand

Data-driven lead scores, built from the things experienced roofers already look for. Higher scores mean more of them stack up in the same place.

The exact formula stays private, but nothing in it is a black box: every area shows the storm, the date and the homes behind its score.

  • Hail size

Bigger stones, bigger score. Hail counts most.

  • Wind strength

Measured gusts and storm reports, not just forecasts.

  • Hurricane zones

Hurricane wind zones scored together with hail and wind.

  • Storm freshness

New storms rank far above old ones.

  • Last call timing

Areas nearing the one-year mark get a Last call badge, so nothing slips.

  • Home value

    Higher-value neighborhoods rank higher.

  • Neighborhood density

More homes close together means more doors per hour.

  • Roof age

Homes in the 12-15 year window get a nudge.

A clean one-page report of the storms that hit any address since 2011, ready to show a homeowner.

Appointments and calendars

Book inspections from the map and sync them to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars.

Manager controls

Team logins, manager roles and approvals for paid lookups, so costs never surprise you.

Installs on any phone

Add StormTurf to the home screen on iPhone or Android. No app store needed.

Built for Florida rules

Canvass with fewer compliance headaches

  • Do-not-knock pins that every rep sees before they walk up.
  • Calling rules built into the app, with reminders to scrub lists against the do-not-call registries.
  • Homeowner storm reports stick to storm facts, written with Florida's limits on soliciting roof claims in mind.
  • Phone lookups run on your own vendor account, so you control the data and the bill.

FAQ

Questions roofers ask us

Where does the storm data come from?

NOAA radar hail estimates, National Weather Service storm reports, weather-station wind gusts and National Hurricane Center wind zones. Home data comes from the Florida property tax roll. The map refreshes twice a day.

Do I still need a paid hail service?

Many teams won't. StormTurf covers hail, wind and hurricanes across the state and adds the homes, scores and team tracking that hail maps leave out. If you already pay for a hail service, StormTurf works fine next to it.

Is it only Florida?

Yes, for now. Every one of Florida's 67 counties is covered. Tell us where you work next and we'll let you know when it's ready.

How do phone lookups work?

Owner names and mailing addresses are included. For phone numbers, you connect your own skip-trace account and pay that vendor directly. Managers can require approval before anyone runs a lookup.

Does it work on my reps' phones?

Yes. StormTurf runs in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen like an app, on iPhone and Android.

What happens after the pilot?

Pick a plan and keep going, with your visits, pins and appointments intact. If it isn't a fit, you walk away and owe nothing.
